He Qi
Most of the artwork which adorns the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church website is by Chinese artist He Qi, former professor at the Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and tutor for master candidate students in the Philosophy Department at Nanjing University.
The art of Dr. He Qi is represented online at www.heqigallery.com where news of current exhibits is published. As well, many works are available as giclee prints and are shipped from the United States. The Amity News Service offers an interesting 1998 intervie w with the artist. The images throughout the Trinity site are largely drawn from the life of Jesus.
Dr. He Qi currently makes his home in Stillwater, Minnesota. The art of He Qi appears on the Trinity website by kind permission. We are most grateful.
Other Artists
Occasionally, the artwork of other artists is featured, including that of Brother
Juan Hosé Perdigones, a friar of the White
Cross
Franciscans in Spain, together with the works of Brother Maristas, of Madrid, and
that of
the late and much acclaimed Alejandro Cañada (1908-1999) of Zaragoza.
Brother Juan
Hosé maintains an online clip-art collection called
Hermano Leon or "Brother Lion".
Sometimes a single piece of classical art has served as a focus for the Welcome page as has been the case, for example, with a painting by the Spanish artist Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (Sevilla, 1617-1682): The Infant Jesus Distributing Bread to Pilgrims (1678).
R. E. Kropf
The image of Trinity Church is a pen-and-ink drawing produced by R. E. Kropf of Wellesley, Ontario, upon completion of Trinity's Access Project, in 1992. The Access Project made Trinity's facilities fully wheelchair accessible.
