February 14, 2010 ~ Transfiguration
- We rejoice at the births, February 8, of twins twins Mira Elizabeth Caroline & Bennet Edward Robert to Bill Bradley
and Amy Arbuckle-Bradley.
- At 9:30 am in our Anchor Community, we bless God for Trinity's new cadre of parish visitors. Jeff Kropf is at the piano for worship.

At 10:30 am, we break for coffee and then re-group at about 10:45 am for Trinity's Annual Meeting. Following upon the magnificent witness of Emily Ritz and Scott Malloch at last Sunday's adult learning session, Trinity's TYGers are making a presentation to the congregation.

Our Sanctuary Community is worshiping with us at 9:30 am in order to take in the annual meeting thereafter. No gathering at 5 pm.

To last Sunday, we had received over $9,800 in Haiti appeal offerings. By Monday, February 8, all funds had been forwarded to CLWR to arrive in time to meet the February 12 federal dollar-matching deadline. If we factor-in member contributions to Trinity and those made directly to CLWR on-line or by phone-- not to mention the $350 contribution made by Trinity's chapter of FaithLife Financial-- Trinity's people have secured well in excess of $10,000 for the Haiti appeal. Bravo!

February 7, 2010 ~ Epiphany 5
- Our community grieves the death, February 6, of Earl Cressman at the age of 93. Funeral arrangements are pending. An obituary will appear on the Mark Jutzi website.

We are winding down this phase of Trinity's Haiti Appeal so that we can forward funds to CLWR to meet the February 12 federal deadline for dollar-matching. We estimate that Trinity members have contributed in excess of $8,200 to date. Of course, further contributions will be welcome but will not be matched by the federal government.

At 9:30 am, we celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord at our Anchor Community Service. Three infants are baptized: Colton Delroy Smith, son of Daryl Smith & Susan Yutzi-Smith; Tyler Ferguson, son of Troy & Julie (Steinberg) Ferguson; and Violet Ann Bender, daughter of Rodrick & Becky (Ruthig) Bender.

Before our morning worship, we bless a prayer quilt for Richard Gerber and invite the congregation to tie knots and offer prayers in the course of the morning.

This Sunday, we celebrate regular Anchor Community (9:30 am) and Sanctuary Community (5 pm) worship.
- Our community is reminded of Monday's annual Christmas Blood Donor Clinic hosted by Trinity Church at Waterloo-Oxford DSS.
- Members are
reminded that to qualify for a 2009 tax credit
offerings must be forwarded to the church by December 31. The post is monitored
into 2010 to catch any straggling mail.
- This day, we hear many words of appreciation for the terrific Christmas ministry of our choirs, soloists and musicians, worship ministers, decorators and artists, ELW members, Priscillas, Faith Adventures staff and children.

This Sunday, we celebrate a special Anchor Community Service (9:30 am) featuring the Advent & Christmas music of Gywin Murray, our Trinity Choir and Affirmation Singers: a foretaste of the feast to come.
- At c. 10:30 am, we break for coffee and juice as our Faith Adventures children prepare for their 11 am Christmas Program. Come, Celebrate the Gift of Jesus.
- Our Sanctuary Community gathers at 5 pm for conversation around Advent Conspiracy. What's it all about? Come, find out!
- At 7 pm, our St. George's Anglican Church sisters and brothers host a Service of Readings and Carols. Pastor André reads a lesson.
- We shall celebrate Christmas Eve with a family Holy Communion at 7 pm featuring the song of the Affirmation Singers. At 11 pm, we shall host a service of Lights, Readings and Carols featuring the song of our Trinity Choir.

- At 10:45 am, we host the fifth session in our adult learning series called My life; my times. Our world; our mission. Six distinguished pastors are reflecting on their ministry and the unfolding mission of the church. This
Sunday, Trinity's own Syd Hills is on-deck.
- Also at 10:45 am, we gather in Trinity Hall for the third and last of our Faith Adventures Christmas Program rehearsals. The program will unfold next Sunday after the 9:30 liturgy.
- The Mitten Tree, festooned with warm winter woollies, will be taken down this week. Get your contributions --woollies, hamper gifts and cash to buy groceries-- in today! Hampers will be prepared this week.

This Sunday, we're back to regular Anchor Community (9:30 am) and Sanctuary Community (5 pm) gatherings following last Sunday's terrific 175th Anniversary celebration. As the hymn-writer wrote, "My Lord, what a morning!" Great spirit. Wonderful enthusiasm. Lot's of fun! And over 300 photos on the web.

Adventures Christmas Program rehearsals.

evening, 6 pm, Faith in Film's Sherry
Coman will screen Amadeus. Bring a brown-bag lunch & come
early to get a good seat!
