  • We continue to prepare for Advent and Christmas ministries by setting up Trinity's first annual Trinity Church Christmas Blood Donor Clinic. Thirty volunteers needed; thirty volunteers in place; wow!

  • It is confirmation day in the parish... Time to celebrate!

  • We prepare for a number of Advent and Christmas ministries by stuffing boxes for Operation Christmas Child; knitting woollies for the Mitten Tree; rehearsing for the Christmas Day Cantata.

  • At a congregational call meeting Pastor Nadine Nicholds' name is presented for a tenured call to Trinity as "pastor". She is presently completing a three-year term call as "assistant pastor."

  • We rejoice as, this morning, the congregation makes covenant with Pastor Syd Hills as he deepens his vocational involvement in the parish as a "Pastoral Assistant."

  • We grieve the death, September 8, of Inge Brodersen, at the age of 80.

  • Trinity's learning ministries resume after the summer break with a Sunday School Rally and a new five-week adult series focused on preaching.

  • The Labour Day weekend heralds the end of summer, the return to school and the resumption of Sunday School, choir rehearsals and other regular ministries.

  • We grieve the death, August 30, of Eileen Wiebe, at the age of 83.

  • We glad of the presence at worship, this morning, of Christine Selbstaedt, the first pastor to serve with Pastor Lavergne in a team ministry at Trinity Church.

  • Pastor Syd Hills, retired from ministry under regular call and a member of Trinity, New Hamburg, presides at worship this morning. In September, he will be installed as "pastoral assistant" at Trinity Church.

  • We affirm the baptism of Olivia Grace Knackstedt, child of Andy & Jane Knackstedt, even as we celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of her grandparents, Jo & Mildred Knackstedt. A grand day, all around!

July 27, 2003 ~ Pentecost 7
  • Pastor Nicholds is off on a youth exchange with our partner church in Guyana.

  • We rejoice at the wedding of Scott Shantz and Lindsay Joseph even as we ask God's blessing on them and on their family.

  • Pastor Lavergne heralds the death of Lorne Brodrecht at the age of 84. The funeral took place at Trinity Church on Saturday.

July 20, 2003 ~ Pentecost 6
  • It is quiet in the parish, as Pastor Nicholds prepares to depart to lead a youth exchange with our partner church in Guyana.

  • The Lutheran World Federation Tenth General Assembly is being convened in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Details are carried at the Assembly website.

July 13, 2003 ~ Pentecost 5
  • Pastor Nicholds heralds the death of Richard Siebert at the age of 87. The funeral will take place at Trinity Church on Wednesday, at 2 pm, with visitation on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Jutzi's.

July 6, 2003 ~ Pentecost 4
  • We rejoice with Sonya (Kraan) and Shawn Burchatzki at the July 2 birth of Kyle Jacob Burchatzki. Congratulations, friends!

  • We rejoice at the baptism of Carl Adam Seltzer, the son of Mary (Buehlow) and Todd Seltzer. We welcome you into the Lord's family.

  • It's the Canada Day weekend in the parish. Pr. Nicholds and Director of Music Murray are taking a well-deserved break from their ministries.

June 22, 2003 ~ Pentecost 2
  • It's Church Music Sunday at Trinity. We rejoice in the ministry of Director of Music, Gywin Murray, and of Trinity's choirs and musicians.

  • We celebrate that, having received and reviewed a report from the Mutual Ministry Committee, Trinity's Council is unanimously recommending that Pr. Nadine Nicholds be called to Trinity as pastor with no time limit on her call. (She is presently serving under a three-year term call as Assistant Pastor.) Terrific news!

  • We also rejoice that Council has directed the Mutual Ministry Committee, working in conjunction with Prs. Lavergne and Nicholds, to issue and explore an invitation to Pr. Syd Hills to serve in Trinity's ministry in an honourary but formally recognized capacity. More terrific news!

  • Worship concluded, the congregation gathers for a surprise 50th birthday party for Pr. Lavergne. My Lord, what a morning!

  • We are glad to have Pastor Lavergne in the congregation, this morning, his first time with us since his injury to his right side on Easter Monday. Pr. Lavergne hopes to preach next Sunday.

  • We are grateful to Pastor Nicholds, Pastor Hills and to the congregational Council and community for their extra work and support in recent weeks.

  • We rejoice at the baptisms of Chazen William Snyder, the son of Melanie Hallman and Shanne Snyder and of Kara Elizabeth Cook, the daughter of Sandra (Wells) and Jeremy cook.

  • We have closed our books for 2002 and will turn our hand to the preparation of our Bulletin of Annual Reports. Our annual meeting will take place on Sunday, February 9, at 10 am.
January 5, 2003 ~ Christmas 2
  • We hear many words of appreciation for the terrific Christmas ministry of our choirs and musicians, worship ministers, decorators and artists, ELW members, TOTS members, Priscillas, Sunday School staff and children.

  • Pastor Lavergne expresses heart-felt thanks for the many kindnesses received by the parsonage families at Christmas. Pastors Nadine and André, together with Kim, Ruth and John, extend wishes for a blessed Christmas and a happy and holy New Year.

  • A single, 10 am, worship service is celebrated this morning.

  • Members are reminded that to qualify toward a 2002 tax credit offerings must be forwarded to the church by December 31. The post is monitored through December 6 at which time the books are closed for 2002.
