  • Trinity's Congregational Council has unanimously endorsed a proposed Affirmation of Welcome for Trinity Church and has referred the text to the congregation for final approval.

  • We extend best wishes to Shannon Roth and Jared Snyder upon their marriage August 14.

  • We grieve the death, August 14, of Marie Ratz.

  • Pastor Nadine is in Hamilton with a team of our TYGers attending the ELCIC's national Canadian Lutheran Youth Gathering, Listen Up! They're due home today.

  • Offerings to last Sunday, August 8, toward Trinity's new roof and steeple have met total project costs at about $49,600! We now turn our hand to some remedial work -- concrete and paving repairs-- on the ground.

August 8, 2004 ~ Pentecost 10
  • We rejoice in the July 13 birth of Jaden Tristan, a son for Aimee Boutilier and Tim Gerber.

  • Offerings to last Sunday, August 1, toward Trinity's new roof and steeple total some $47,330. The work is now complete and looks wonderful! Here is a project update and here are some photos .

  • We rejoice in the July 28 birth of James John "Jamie", a son for Diane (Untch) and Andrew Hatchwell.

  • Offerings to the end of July toward Trinity's new roof and steeple total some $42,650. The work is now complete and looks wonderful! Here is a project update and here are some photos .

July 25, 2004 ~ Pentecost 8
  • We rejoice in the July 19 birth of Reagan Emily, a daughter for Stacey (Goldstein) and Mark West.

  • We rejoice at the baptisms of Cody Jan Klaassen, son of Tracy (Whetstone) & Derek Klaassen and of Grace Leah Bender, daughter of Becky (Ruthig) & Rodrick Bender. We welcome you into the Lord's family.

  • Offerings to July 18 toward Trinity's new roof and steeple total about $34,500. The re-slating of the steeple is complete. On Monday the steeple's cross will be repaired and painted and the re-shingling of the roof begun.

July 18, 2004 ~ Pentecost 7
  • We grieve the death, July 16, of Barb Honderich. We pray God's peace on all who mourn her passing.

  • Pledges toward Trinity's new roof and steeple now total over $40,000 with offerings to last Sunday of over $30,000. Work is scheduled to begin tomorrow for completion in about two weeks.

July 11, 2004 ~ Pentecost 6
  • We rejoice at the 50th wedding anniversary of Carl and Lorraine Schroeder.

  • We welcome Sharla Nafziger "home" to Trinity to sing at worship. What a magnificent voice!

  • Pledges toward Trinity's new roof and steeple total between $38,000 and $39,000 with offerings to date of about $28,000. We begin work in one week's time.

July 4, 2004 ~ Pentecost 5
  • We rejoice in the June 21 birth of Ryan Jeffrey Robert, a son for Lyndsay (Miller) and Mike Yost.

  • Trinity's Affirmation of Welcome has been revised and posted to our Caring Conversations page which has also been substantially revised.

  • Pledges toward Trinity's new roof and steeple total $36,300 with offerings to June 27 of $22,425.

June 27, 2004 ~ Pentecost 4
  • We rejoice in the June 19 birth of twins Liam Samuel and Sydni Margaret, a son and a daughter for Traci Jutzi and Serge Blaquiere, and in the June 16 birth of Kirsten Emily, a daughter for Lisa Barker and Brad Livingston.

  • It's Church Music Sunday at Trinity. We rejoice in the ministry of Director of Music, Gywin Murray, and of Trinity's choirs and musicians.

  • We are reminded that Lori Endress, an ELCIC missionary serving in Thailand, is to visit our parish this Tuesday, June 22, at 7 pm. The primary focus of Ms Endress' ministry in Thailand is to serve the English-language teaching needs of the students and faculty at the McGilvary Faculty of Theology and Seminary.

June 13, 2004 ~ Pentecost 2
  • This morning, we receive word that Lori Endress, an ELCIC missionary serving in Thailand, is to visit our parish on June 22, at 7 pm. Earlier this year, Trinity's Council approved missionary support for 2004 through 2006. The primary focus of Ms Endress' continuing ministry in Thailand is to serve the English-language teaching needs of the students and faculty at the McGilvary Faculty of Theology and Seminary, the primary institution preparing pastors and other church workers for service in Christian communities throughout Thailand.

  • We extend best wishes to Holly Boshart and Paul McInally upon their marriage June 12.

  • Pledges toward Trinity's new roof and steeple total $30,650 with offerings to June 6 of $13,185.

  • We grieve the death, May 12, of Norma Quast. We pray God's peace on all who mourn her passing.

  • At a congregational meeting the peopl of Trinity approve a new roof and steeple for the church at a cost of about $46,000. Work is to be completed in August.

  • In adult learning we conclude Caring Conversations II - Aspects of Grace. This week, Pastor Lavergne offers session 4: Whereto from here? One possibility: This fall, the congregation may be asked to consider adopting an Affirmation of Welcome.

  • We hear word that Pastor Lavergne will resume his pastoral ministry this week. Pastor Lavergne has been off on compassionate leave since the death of his wife, Kim.

  • We begin a terrific new adult learning series this morning, called "faith in the Media." Week-to-week a variety of media guests will discuss the nexus of faith and the media.

December 28, 2003 ~ Christmas 1
  • A single, 10 am, worship service is celebrated this morning. It follows upon the two Christmas Eve services and Christmas Day service.

  • We hear many words of appreciation for the terrific Christmas ministry of our choirs and musicians, worship ministers, decorators and artists, ELW members, Priscillas, Sunday School staff and children.

  • Pastor Syd offers words of thanks for the many kindnesses received as he helps to cover the bases in the absence of Pastor André. Pastors Nadine, Syd and André, together with Joanne, Ruth and John, extend wishes for a blessed Christmas and a happy and holy New Year.

  • Members are reminded that to qualify toward a 2003 tax credit offerings must be forwarded to the church by December 31. The post is monitored through January 5 at which time the books are closed for 2003.
December 21, 2003 ~ Advent 4
  • Trinity's Christmas trees are up and soon will be lighted. The precincts are beautifully decorated in anticipation of the celebration of Chrismas.

  • We have word that some 40-50 Good Cheer Boxes have been distributed by the ELW while a number of Christmas Hampers have been prepared under the careful hand of the Priscilllas. The hampers include warm woollies from the Mitten Tree and individual gifts offered by members of the parish.

  • This morning, the Trinity Choir and Affirmation Singers under the direction of Gywin Murray offer anthems and special music to see us from Advent into Christmas.

  • This evening, Trinity's Sunday School gathers to host our annual Christmas pageant featuring a large cast of budding actors, the gentle hand of dedicated teachers and the lovely refrains of talented musicians. All around, great stuff!

  • We look forward to Christmas services at 7 pm (Holy Communion with the Affirmation Singers) and 11 pm (Lights, Readings and Carols) on Christmas Eve, and 10 am (Christmas Cantata and Holy Communion) on Christmas Day.

  • We rejoice at the births of Tanner Morgan, a son for Melanie Hallman and Shane Snyder (December 3); of Paige Mackenzie, a daughter for Kate and Corey Gingerich (December 10); and of Hawkins Stanford Ross, a son for Amy and Gary Becker (December 11).

  • Trinity's people are invited to choose persons from the narthex board for whom they might provide Christmas gifts via the annual Christmas hamper program. Gifts are due next week. Food Bank and Mitten Tree items are also welcome.

  • The congregation has mourned the death and celebrated the life of Kim Lavergne, wife of Pastor André Lavergne, and mother to Ruth and John.

  • We learn this morning that Trinity members provided 100 gift boxes for the annual Operation Christmas Child program, up from 60 last year. Wow!
  • Trinity's Advent Mitten Tree is up and ready to receive warm winter woollies for inclusion in the Christmas hampers.
