December 31, 2006 ~ Christmas 1 / New Year's
Eve
- We prepare for
the New Year with optimism and with an ever renewed vision for our ministry.
December 24, 2006 ~ Advent 4
- We rejoice at the
birth, December 7, of Ruby Elizabeth
Farr,
a daughter for Janet (West) and David Farr.
- This evening, our
congregation will begin its celebration of Christmas with services at 7 and 11 pm and,
tomorrow, at 10 am.
- Our community is
reminded of Friday's annual Christmas
Blood Donor Clinic hosted by Trinity Church at Waterloo-Oxford
DSS.
- As always, we
hear many
words of appreciation for the terrific Christmas
ministry of our choirs, soloists and musicians, worship ministers, decorators
and artists, ELW members, Priscillas, Sunday School staff and
children.
- Members are
reminded that to qualify for a 2006 tax credit
offerings must be forwarded to the church by December 31. The post is monitored
into 2007 to catch any straggling mail. The books will be closed on January 5, 2007

- It's
Church Music Sunday in the parish. All of our
choirs are on deck and Gywin Murray does an overview of Christmas music at Adult
Learning.

as part of our 2006 stewardship program, our congregation rededicates itself to a Faithful Journey.

Mitten Tree is up and ready to receive warm
winter woollies for our Christmas hampers.
- People have taken
all of the family-member tags for the gift component in our Christmas Hamper program.
- This evening, at
7:30 pm, Steinmann Mennonite Church hosts area congregational choirs in an Advent Choir Program.

Trevor, has moved in.

André Lavergne picking up where they left off last winter. We
experience "The Ernie & Andy
Hour - Part Deux: The Sequel (The Later Years)".
- We rejoice at the
birth, September 7, of Cooper West,
a son for Stacey and Mark West; and September 6, of Teagan
Cook a daughter for Martha (Gingerich) and Andy Cook.
- We install a terrific
group of Sunday School leaders, teachers and helpers.
September 3, 2006 ~ Pentecost 13
- A large team of
volunteers has been working on the Wilmot Street Parsonage for our new pastor. Pastor-
elect Anne Anderson, together with her husband Trevor, moves in on
Tuesday evening.
August 27, 2006 ~ Pentecost 12
- Our community
has welcomed home our Full Serve and
Affirmation Camp youth. Terrific youth! Terrific experience!
- We rejoice at the
birth, August 24, of Alexandra Paige,

- A large team of
volunteers has begun preparing the Wilmot Street Parsonage for our new pastor. Old
carpet's out; ceilings and walls are painted; new steps are in. Work continues.

at the age of 73.

- On Wednesday,
July 19, we received word that Anne Anderson has accepted the call to Trinity Church. Pastor-elect
Anderson will begin her work at Trinity on September 15 and will be ordained at Trinity
on Sunday, October 15, at 4 pm. Great news!
- In the spring, we
invited people to purchase copies of Evangelical
Lutheran Worship for the pews. We now have commitments in hand for
enough books to fill the pews with a few copies to spare. Fantastic!
- This morning, we
included the following among the Prayers of the
People: "For Joe De Sapio & Carina Lindner, newly wed; for
Bill & Muriel Weichel, celebrating 50 years of marriage, and for Betty &
Ernie Ritz, soon to celebrate 60; that in the lives of these couples we might
experience great joy and in the witness of these couples, we might find our loyalties
confirmed." Wow!
July 16, 2006 ~ Pentecost 6
- Last Sunday, the
congregation voted to extend a call
to Anne Anderson. We await word and hold her, together with her
husband, Trevor, in our prayers.
- Our community
mourns the death of Penny Lee Becker,
July 15, at the age of 60. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 1 pm at the Mark
Jutzi Funeral Home.
- We have orders in
hand for 213 of the 220 copies of Evangelical
Lutheran Worship required to fill the pews. We're in the home
stretch!
July 9, 2006 ~ Pentecost 5
- This morning the
congregation votes on whether to extend a call
to Anne (Hallman) Anderson. We continue to hold her, together with her
husband, Trevor, in our prayers.
- The 2006 Eastern
Synod Assembly concludes this morning in
Waterloo.
- We have now
received orders for 171 of the 220 copies of Evangelical
Lutheran Worship required to fill the pews. That's three-quarters!
July 2, 2006 ~ Pentecost 4 (Canada Day Weekend)
- We continue to hold
Anne (Hallman) Anderson, together with her husband, Trevor, in our
prayers pending next Sunday's congregational call
meeting.
- This coming
Saturday, at the closing banquet of the 2006 Eastern Synod Assembly, Pr.
Lavergne will receive a Synod Leadership
Award for "outstanding service to the wider church". The convention begins
on Wednesday.
- We have now
received orders for 163 of the 220 copies of Evangelical
Lutheran Worship required to fill the pews.
- Semi-annual offering statements are available this morning.
June 25, 2006 ~ Pentecost 3
- Today guest tenor Brandon Leis sings at worship.
He is accompanied by Jane Trafford. Their gift of music marks the 50th
wedding anniversary of Gywin & Jim Murray.
- Our community
mourns the death of Doris May Wagner,
June 20, at the age of 80.
- We continue to hold
Anne (Hallman) Anderson, together with her husband, Trevor, in our
prayers pending the
July 9 congregational call meeting.
- Enclosed in the last
issue
of Trinity Dove was an order form for Evangelical Lutheran
Worship, Trinity's new worship book. We're asking people to sponsor pew
copies. By ordering
early, we get them for $21 each. We'll need 220 to do the job. So far, we have orders
in place for better than half the pew
books! Books may be given in memory or in honour of loved-ones and a bookplate to
that effect will be placed
in the book. We ask that people get both the order form and offering envelope in as
soon as possible.
June 18, 2006 ~ Pentecost 2 / Church Music Sunday
- It's Church Music Sunday at Trinity. We rejoice in the
ministry of
Director of Music Gywin Murray, and of Trinity's fine choirs and musicians.
- On June 14,
Trinity's
Congregational Council unanimously endorsed a recommendation from Trinity's Call
Committee: to extend a call to Anne (Hallman) Anderson. A
congregational
meeting is scheduled for July 9, 2006. We are invited to keep Anne, together
with her husband, Trevor, in our
prayers pending the July 9 meeting.

June 11, 2006 ~ Holy Trinity
- We welcome
Tyler Daniel Joseph Legare, son of Cortney (Miller) and Gerry
Legare into the Lord's family through the sacrament of holy baptism.
- Trinity's Call Committee is interviewing three candidates for
call. These
interviews began on Tuesday, June 6 with another scheduled for Tuesday, June 13. In
addition, Pr. Lavergne is
meeting individually with each candidate. The Call Committee plans to make a report to
Council this
Wednesday, June 14.
- The Summer
edition
of Trinity's Worship Rota is available this
morning. Go to the Documents page to

- Fund-raising for
Full Serve, this summer's Canadian Lutheran
Youth Gathering, is substantially completed. We are extremely grateful to all who have
participated in our many endeavours and made the journey to Winnipeg
possible.
- Next Sunday is
Church Music Sunday. Look for wonderful stuff from
Gywin
Murray, the Affirmation Singers and Trinity Choir. The following week there will be more
fine music:
Tenor Brandon Leis will be singing at worship. He will be accompanied by
Trinity's own
Jane Trafford. Their presence is being sponsored by our Trinity Choir in honour
of the 50th
wedding anniversary of Gywin & Jim Murray.

age of 93. Margaret, mother of Pastor James Brown of Christ Lutheran
Church, Waterloo, had recently joined our community at Nithview.

Task Group has completed a draft Congregational
Profile to be forwarded to the Synod office upon review by the
Congregational Council. The Ministry Task Group will become the nucleus of a Call Committee for a second pastor. We are hoping to
interview graduating seminarians.
- Congregational
president Don Jardin introduces Pastor Helen Toman to the
congregation. Pr. Toman will be providing on-call
coverage when Pr. Lavergne is off and will give the parish a day a
week of visitation.
February 5, 2006 ~ Epiphany 5
- Professor / Pastor
TIm Hegedus joins us this morning to preach and to teach the first session in our new Adult Learning
series: The World of the New Testament. Today: The World of Jesus. Next week: the
World of Paul.
- Our community
assists the Ministry Task Group by completing a
survey to help determine the kind of pastor we
might wish to call. The Task Group is working on a congregational profile to be forwarded to the
bishop.
- Fund-raising,
preparation, including a March sausage & sauerkraut luncheon and June golf
tournament, is well under way to
help send a number of Trinity youth to the 2006
Canadian Lutheran Youth Gathering in
Winnipeg.
- Trinity's new
parish photo album is distributed this morning. It
looks fabulous!
January 29, 2006 ~ Epiphany 4
- Pastors
Nicholds and Thaler are hosting a number of United and Lutheran
parishioners on a trip to Israel. Back in a couple
of weeks!

ministry of our choirs and musicians, worship ministers, decorators
and artists, ELW members, Priscillas, Sunday School staff and
children, Blood Donor Clinic organizers and staff.
December 25, 2005 ~ Christmas Day
- A single, 10
am, worship service is celebrated this
morning. Ditto next week (January 1, 2006)!
- We rejoice at the
birth, December 18, of Zachary John, a
son
for Jennifer (Schwehr) and Brad Becker.
- Our community is
reminded of Monday's annual (10:30 am - 4 pm) Christmas
Blood Donor Clinic hosted by Trinity Church at Waterloo-Oxford
DSS.
- As always, we
hear many
words of appreciation for the terrific Christmas
ministry of our choirs, soloists and musicians, worship ministers, decorators
and artists, ELW members, Priscillas, Sunday School staff and
children.
- Members are
reminded that to qualify for a 2005 tax credit
offerings must be forwarded to the church by December 31. The post is monitored
into 2006 to catch any straggling mail. The books will be closed on January 6, 2006
December 18, 2005 ~ Advent 4
- Trinity's
Christmas trees are up and soon will be lighted.
The precincts are beautifully decorated in anticipation of the celebration
of Chrismas.
- We rejoice at the
birth, December 12, of Kaden Douglas,
a son for Melanie (Taves) and Michael Eichler.
- We have word
that some 50 Good Cheer Boxes have been
distributed by the ELW while a number of Christmas
Hampers are being prepared under the careful hand of the Priscilllas.
The hampers include warm woollies from the Advent Mitten
Tree and individual gifts offered by members of the parish.
- This morning,
the Trinity Choir and Affirmation Singers under the direction of Gywin
Murray offer anthems
and special music to see us from Advent into Christmas.
- This evening,
Trinity's Sunday School gathers to host our annual Christmas
pageant featuring a large cast of budding actors, the gentle hand
of dedicated teachers and the lovely refrains of talented musicians. All
around, great stuff!

We look forward
to Christmas services at 7 pm (Holy Communion
with the Affirmation Singers) and 11 pm (Lights, Readings and Carols with the Trinity
Choir) on
Christmas Eve (this coming Saturday), and 10 am (Readings and Carols with the Trinity
Choir) on Christmas Day (next Sunday).

Marlene Yutzi. We grieve with her family.
- The Advent
Mitten Tree comes down today and the warm
winter woolies are readied for our Christmas hampers.

grieves the death, November 20, of long-serving
--36 years!-- missionary, Joan Nabert.
- We rejoice at the
birth, November 25, of Trent, a son
for Lori Schmitt and Mike Otterbein.
- The Operation Christmas Child boxes have been coming
in in fine style. Wow!
- The Advent

- People have begun
taking family-member tags for the gift component in our Christmas Hamper program.
- This morning,
Ruth Lavergne is doing an Adult Learning session on her Pilgrimage to India.
- This evening, 7:30
pm, Trinity hosts area congregational choirs in an Advent
Choir Program.
