    --the "Bruce Hammer Theatre."

    Some will likely call it the "Silver Hammer..." Council's Decree appears as a plaque on the wall in the Faith Adventures hall and was commended to Bruce in a framed version.

  • Our "Interesting Lives" Adult Learning series resumes this morning with Fire Chief John Ritz on deck.

  • Pastor Lavergne announces his engagement to Barbara Edwards of Guelph. A small family ceremony is envisioned at the turn of the year with a community blessing being sought sometime thereafter at worship.

  • It's Canada Day in the land and, while the community is quiet, it will become lively with festivities through the day.

  • This morning we receive the sad news that Bruce Hammer has retired from his position as Sexton owing to illness. We pledge out support to Bruce, Anne and their family. For now, Brian Racho will take up the slack where the two previously shared the position.

  • Our Sunday worship moves to a new time. Through the summer and thereafter we shall gather at 9:30 am. In September, our Sunday celebration will be augmented with a Sanctuary Community gathering at 5 pm.

  • This morning, our Sunday School hosts a terrific congregational carnival after worship. Wonderful!

  • Our community welcomes the births of Eilish Marie Moylan, born May 29, to John & Sarah (Schmidt) Moylan and of Ronald Jiovanni Preikschas, born April 16, to Ron & Gaye (Corbett) Preikschas.

  • We receive word that a comprehensive energy audit will be conducted June 11/12 covering the main church plant and both parsonages. We are working with people from Waterloo Region's REEP (Residential Energy Efficiency Project) and the support of Greening Sacred Spaces, a project of Faith and the Common Good.

  • This morning we observe the Feast of the Holy Trinity and celebrate Gywin Murray Sunday in the parish. Former choir members augment the Trinity Choir for the anthem featuring an arrangement on the hymn-tune "Slane" by Lisa Hagen. Sharla Nafziger joins us from New York while Charlene Nafziger accompanies.

April 8, 2007 ~ Easter Sunday
  • Our community concludes its celebration of the great Three Days, this morning, with a spectacular celebration of Easter.

  • We are especially grateful to all of the musicians and worship leaders who lent their hands, talents and voices to our faithful journey. We think, especially, of Gywin Murray, Lisa Hagen and Pastor Anne for their leadership at worship, and of Trinity Choir, the Affirmation Singers and Youth Choir & Band for their wonderful work.

  • A new set of Easter paraments and vestments is dedicated. They are the work of Catherine Comor of Brantford, Ontario, and are dedicated in honour of Ruth and John Lavergne, and in memory of Kim. The main image is that of a phoenix ascendant. Exquisite!

  • Our community welcomes the birth of Adrian Todd Nickolas, born February 28, to Todd & Debbie (Ting) Nickolas.

  • At last night's Vigil of Easter, we celebrated the baptisms of Ryan Michael Speers, son of Michael & Charlotte Speers; Joseph Walter Ross Durrer, son of Kevin & Krista Durrer; Rae-Leala Abaegail Gole, daughter of Nicole Pfohl & Sam Gole; and of members of the Brooks family, including Erin Lynn Spence and Brittany Elizabeth Brooks. Terrific!
April 1, 2007 ~ Passion / Palm Sunday
  • Our community begins its Holy Week journey, this morning, with the Procession with Palms from Trinity Hall into the worship space.

  • Our community celebrates the Great Three Days -- Maundy Thursday evening through Easter Sunday Evening -- with four terrific services in one great, continuing liturgy:

    • Maundy Thursday - 7 pm - Confession and Individual Forgiveness
    • Good Friday - 10 am - "Stations of the Cross" Cantata
    • Holy Saturday - 7 pm - Vigil of Easter with lighting of the new fire and the celebration of eight baptisms.
    • Easter Sunday - 9 am - Easter Communion with dedication of new paraments and new members welcomed. Afterward, the TYGers host an Easter breakfast.

  • Our community maintains a Prayer Vigil in the worship space from 11 am on Good Friday (after Good Friday Cantata) to 5 pm on Holy Saturday (prior to Easter Vigil service).

  • This morning, first-quarter offering statements are available.

  • Our community is reminded of Friday's annual Christmas Blood Donor Clinic hosted by Trinity Church at Waterloo-Oxford DSS.

  • As always, we hear many words of appreciation for the terrific Christmas ministry of our choirs, soloists and musicians, worship ministers, decorators and artists, ELW members, Priscillas, Sunday School staff and children.

  • Members are reminded that to qualify for a 2006 tax credit offerings must be forwarded to the church by December 31. The post is monitored into 2007 to catch any straggling mail. The books will be closed on January 5, 2007
